A stab-proof jacket sounds like an oxymoron until you pick one up. Most of the jackets in this collection weigh around half what a steel-plate version would, and they look like something you'd actually wear to work, not something you'd borrow from a riot squad. That's the whole point of the FlexGuard line.

The protection is in the composite

Every jacket here is built on the same FlexGuard material, a carbon-fibre composite certified to NIJ 0115.0 Level 1, the US standard for stab resistance. It's tested at 24 joules of knife energy and 36 joules for a spike. The UK CAST KR1/SP1 standard tests at the same 24-joule threshold, so this is weapon-level protection either way you read it. In everyday terms, 24 joules is a firm one-handed hammer swing, or a full one-litre water bottle dropped from a doorway height onto a knife tip. FlexGuard also carries a VPAM K1 rating for blunt force and EN388 Level 5 for blade cut. The panels sit inside the jacket rather than on top of it, which is why the outside can look like normal clothing.

What's in this collection

You'll see a few different styles here. The Trekker is a weather coat built for people who work outside, with the panels sewn into a jacket that stands up to rain and wind. The Diplomat is a Harrington-style jacket for anyone who wants the same level of protection in a more casual, everyday setting。 Each jacket protects the chest and the back, with the arm and neck cut protection handled by the outer fabric's EN388 rating(Available on selected models only). The trade-off you accept with a jacket is the same one you accept with any armour: more coverage, more weight, less breathable. If you need something that disappears under a conventional outerwear, that's the vest collection.

Who a jacket is for

The people who reach for a jacket over a vest are usually the ones who can't layer up. Security staff on a door, delivery drivers out in the cold, anyone whose job keeps them outside after dark. A jacket means the protection is already on and hidden, whatever your situation needs, and you don't have to think about what's underneath. It's one garment that does the job of two.

Wearing it every day

Weight and heat are the reasons most body armour ends up in a cupboard. And a jacket you can't clean is a jacket you stop wearing, and it stops protecting you. That's what FlexGuard was designed around. The composite is around half the weight of steel, and it's shaped to move with you rather than sit on you like a board. It's washable too, please do remove the protective inserts before putting the jacket in the washing machine. For details, please do observe our care instructions page.

Before you buy

Stab-proof jackets are legal to wear in the UK. These jackets are designed as regular fit, but if you plan to layer a hoodie underneath, or are slightly fuller built, order one or even two sizes bigger. If you're switching from a steel-plate jacket, the first thing you'll notice is the weight, or the lack of it. The second thing is that nobody looks twice at you and you won't stand out in the crowd as one wearing tactical SWAT gear. Each product page below walks through the certifications in plain English with no small print, and we're happy to answer questions before you order. A jacket only works if you put it on. Ours you'll actually want to.

TACTICAL BRIEFING (FAQ)

Our ArmorLite wear uses advanced materials and innovative design to provide stab-resistant protection while remaining flexible and comfortable. Please read this article to learn more.
Our designs aim to strike a balance between protection and mobility. Coverage is focused on the most vulnerable areas while allowing for flexibility and comfort.
Wearing ArmorLite stab-proof vests and jackets is just as easy as wearing your conventional apparel. Simply put on the vest or jacket as you would any other piece of clothing. However, it’s important to pay attention to the correct positioning of the armor. Ensure that the impact side of the body armor—the side designed to absorb and deflect attacks—is facing outward. This ensures that the armor will provide effective protection. Additionally, when removing and reattaching the armor panels for washing and cleaning, make sure to reattach them properly to maintain the integrity of the protection. Kindly refer to the instructions and videos on this page.
At ArmorLite, we prioritise your safety by ensuring our stab-proof body armour complies with the most stringent safety standards in the world. Our products meet NIJ Level 1 standards for protection against knives, syringes, and other sharp objects. Additionally, our armour adheres to the rigorous VPAM standards for both stabbing and blunt force protection. ArmorLite is also certified by the China National Accreditation Service (CNAS) and follows ISO standards to guarantee the highest levels of quality and safety. These industry-leading certifications ensure our armour delivers top-tier protection you can trust.
Stab-proof body armour is specialised protective wear designed to prevent or reduce injury from stabbing or puncture wounds. This innovative combination of materials is specifically designed to absorb and disperse impact energies, and will withstand a wide range of sharp and blunt object attacks, including knives, syringes, and even bricks. The result is a lightweight, flexible body armour that provides unmatched protection without compromising comfort.
