We Stand Between
You and The Blade
At ArmorLite, we believe that the ultimate form of protection is the kind you never have to think about.
OUR CORE DOCTRINE
We do not sell body armour. We deliver confidence and reassurance.
Absolute Confidence
Walk into any room or commute knowing you are protected by independently certified, military-grade defence against unexpected threats.
All-Day Comfort
Armour is useless if it stays in the wardrobe. We prioritise breathable, lightweight materials designed for gruelling 12-hour shifts.
Invisibility
True protection should not make you a target. Our armour is engineered to be completely undetectable under everyday clothing.
BUILT BY VETERANS, ENGINEERED BY SCIENTISTS
ArmorLite was founded on the belief that frontline professionals, executives, and everyday civilians deserve military-grade protection that does not dictate how they live, work, or dress.
We saw paramedics sweating through gruelling 12-hour shifts in rigid, unbreathable Kevlar. We saw corporate security details struggling to conceal bulky plates under tailored suits. We saw commuters feeling anxious on public transit but unwilling to wear overt tactical gear.
The solution was not to make armour thicker; it was to make it smarter.
Through nineteen years of research and development, we pioneered advanced composite matrices, blending high-tensile aramid fibres, non-metallic carbon composites, and revolutionary HPPE textiles. The result is a new category of protective apparel.
Whether it is the heavy-duty, kinetic-locking impact resistance of our FlexGuard Series, or the ultra-breathable, second-skin slash protection of our SoftGuard Series, every ArmorLite garment is engineered to pass the ultimate test: anonymity.
We design our armour to look, drape, and feel like premium outerwear and high-end base layers. It breathes with you, moves with your biomechanics, and effortlessly passes the "hug test."
When you wear ArmorLite, you do not look like you are bracing for an attack. You just look like you.
Six Generations of FlexGuard
Our research began in 2006 at the Donghua University National Key Textile Materials Laboratory in Shanghai, led by a PhD team focused on non-metallic anti-puncture performance. What started as finite-element analysis became a family of stab-resistant materials, refined across six generations.
First Generation
The first flexible stab-resistant material, born in the Donghua University National Key Laboratory.
Second Generation
The first commercially mature product, launched to professional and civilian markets at home and abroad.
Third Generation
Biomimetic optimisation design, rolled out to military and police professionals for field trials.
Fourth Generation
Carbon fibre finalised as the base protective material, with mass-production bottlenecks solved.
Fifth Generation
Raw-material optimisation and user-customisable protection levels for multi-scenario needs.
Sixth Generation
Glove-level wearability and full-body coverage, in development for the next stage of the programme.
Nature Did It First
Natural armour has spent billions of years solving the same contradiction we faced: high protection against high flexibility. FlexGuard does not copy any single species. It synthesises principles from six of them, then translates that biology into engineering.
Arapaima Fish
Overlapping, gradient scales with a spiral-stacked collagen core. The hard outer layer blunts a blade tip; the inner structure dissipates energy. FlexGuard borrows the gradient hard/soft composite and overlapping tile load distribution.
Pangolin
Self-locking keratin scales that go from flexible to rigid the moment they are squeezed. This is the direct inspiration for FlexGuard's dynamic locking mechanism: soft while worn, stiff on impact.
Crocodile
Arched osteoderms that spread a concentrated strike across a wide area. FlexGuard uses curved, arched tile geometry to deflect and distribute force rather than absorb it at a single point.
Armadillo
Zone-differentiated armour: rigid shields over the vital organs, articulated bands where the body bends. FlexGuard applies the same idea, protecting the torso core while letting the rest move.
Horseshoe Crab
A "brick-and-mortar" carapace where hard plates sit in a flexible protein matrix, so cracks cannot run through it. FlexGuard's layered composite uses the same crack-arresting principle for multi-hit durability.
Tortoise
A double-arched, honeycomb-core shell that absorbs impact through its middle layer. FlexGuard's sandwich construction, hard face over an energy-absorbing core, mirrors this design.
The seventh element is the synthesis: translating each of these lessons into a dual-layer, interleaved composite of carbon-fibre tiles on an aramid substrate. Think roof tiles that flex with your body, then lock together the instant a blade strikes.
Tested. Not Just Claimed.
A certificate is only worth the independent laboratory behind it. Every ArmorLite claim maps to a published standard and a named test method.
FlexGuard Series
Carbon-fibre scale armour for the highest-threat wearer: stab and spike protection.
- check_circleNIJ 0115.0 Level 1 — 24 J edged-blade and 36 J spike impact, the US National Institute of Justice stab standard.
- check_circleVPAM K1 — edged-weapon and blunt-force protection.
- check_circleEN 388:2016 Level 5 — blade-cut resistance.
- check_circleBackface deformation ≤10 mm — well inside the 20 mm limit most soft armour approaches at high energy.
SoftGuard Series
Ultra-light fabric for everyday slash and puncture defence, built to disappear under clothing.
- check_circleEN 388:2016 Level 4, three times over — 450 N puncture resistance, triple the 150 N requirement.
- check_circleANSI/ISEA 105 A8 — the highest cut-resistance grade.
SoftGuard is a slash and puncture fabric, independently tested to EN 388 and ANSI/ISEA 105. It is not sold as NIJ or CAST stab-resistant armour. For weapon-level thrust protection, choose FlexGuard.
Built For The Life You Actually Live
From covert vests that sit under a shirt to weather coats that look like any other jacket, every garment is built around the same protective core.

Who makes ArmorLite?
ArmorLite is the brand behind the FlexGuard and SoftGuard protective ranges. Its research began in 2006 at the Donghua University National Key Textile Materials Laboratory in Shanghai, and its garments are manufactured in Suzhou, China.
Where is ArmorLite based?
ArmorLite serves the UK market directly from armorliteshop.com, with free delivery across the UK, US, Australia and most EU countries.
What standards does ArmorLite meet?
FlexGuard is tested to NIJ 0115.0 Level 1 and VPAM K1; SoftGuard is tested to EN 388:2016 and ANSI/ISEA 105. Each standard maps to an independent laboratory test, not a manufacturer's claim.
Is ArmorLite independently tested?
Yes. Every protection claim is backed by a published standard and a named test method. See our certification guide to learn how to verify any stab-proof claim.
